10/11/10 - Visualyze
2 @DUSA, Dundee
The second Visualyze, an Art School night put on by the Duncan of Jordanstone
students, was great fun - even better than
last time. There was music from Damaged Electronics, Surgyn, Jam Factory,
Slash Dash, Edward Shallow as well as lots of acoustic acts and artwork and films
exhibited all night.

17/10/10 - Mungo's
HiFi @Reading Rooms, Dundee
Some footage of our latest gig at the Reading Rooms with Miss D Love and Mungo's
HiFi. Really good night!
The final date of our mini tour of Scotland with Esperi and
Noiserv was at this lovely mini festival set in the grounds of Dundee's botanic
gardens. Garry did a great job with some custom visuals for Noiserv's set and
his trademark mental abstract suff for Loops
Haunt. Keep an eye out for the incredibly
subtle change in tempo half way through :D
Ultrachip was the UK's first chipmusic festival and we helped kick off the event
with our VJ sets for Sycamore
Drive, Samwave, Diamonds & Dynamite and Comptroller.
Had a great time, can't wait for the next one!
...
These are some two player Blender 3D visuals we did together (Smash on PS3 joypad,
Retchy on tablet and pen) for
Diamonds
and
Dynamite's
set,
hence our gratitude to whoever it was that recorded and uploaded this video :D
...
And here's some extended footage of Retchy's visuals for Comptroller's awesome
set. Check out more videos of the event on Youtube - the Ultrachip
channel is
a good place to start.
Had a great night at the Reading Rooms with the resident Glitch boys
the other night - here's some footage, including
some new stuff from Garry's experimental Blender lab, and some dancing
Huxleys.
Retchy did his kite mapping thing with Esperi again last week at the debut of
club
night
Slack at the Soul Nightclub in Dundee. We
had a great night and thoroughly enjoyed the pop
video mash ups from Thriftshop
XL and DJ set from Hooker
Barbie Roadshow. Looking forward to the
next one!

02/07/10 - Guerrilla
Gallery Launch Party
We put on our own night! In collaboration with DJ
Captain Congo and D-AiR (Dundee
Artists in Residence), the Guerrilla Gallery launch party brought together local
artists with their work for a night of live music from Esperi and Edward
Shallow (via Skype from New York! Video below),
live
drawing with
the
Tagtool and
a couple of overhead projectors, and a bit of VJ-ing from us. We had a great
night thanks to all the people who submitted their work and turned up for the
fun and games on the night. We'll definitely be doing it again at some point.
...
Here's
some edited highlights of the night, and there's also some photos on the GG
Facebook page.
A
truly awesome night was had at N_ilk in Drouthy's the other
night - it's a rare thing to be able to say that you thoroughly
enjoyed all the acts on a bill - Deliberate Crumbs were unexpectedly
hilarious, Jo Foster provided the contrast with her lovely,
lovely voice, and Garry's visuals worked really well with
Ed Shallow's crazy Gameboy tunes, even if we say so ourselves
:) Retchy also did his OHP Nick Cave thing which seemed to
go down well too. Check 'em oot!
The best Esperi gig yet I reckon, they seem to be getting better each time
:) Really nice set up at Dexters too, lovely atmosphere and it was nice and
dark
so the
visuals
could really shine. The
song in this video is called 'Silo The Fire' and we're possibly going to put
a music video together for it soon using the kite. Thanks
to Petra for the photos - more on the RetchyvSmash
facebook page if you're interested...
