I
say Robert Breer, but I didn't know he existed at the time. I
did know
that Stuart Hilton existed though, and he definitely knew about Robert Breer.
I completed this piece in my third year at Duncan of Jordanstone

college
in Dundee, which would have been, errrrr, 2000 / 2001 I think.
I've
been corrupted
by After Effects since - I wish I still had the patience for this kind of animation. I've
been meaning to do something similar for a while now actually.
Below is one of Robert Breer's many amazing films, Swiss Army Knife with
Rats
and
Pigeons from
1980. I wish someone would release a dvd of all his stuff.
This is Stuart Hilton's Save Me - you can clearly see the Breer
influence. Still
lovely in it's own right though. I was a bit obsessed with this back in the day...
